Four Seasons Punta Mita resort had been on my bucket list of places to travel to as a family for YEARS. And I was so grateful to finally make it happen!
Located within a 400-acre nature reserve on a private peninsula, this newly renovated resort is just 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta airport, yet feels a world away. They also coordinate private SUV transfers with car seat option available for infants, toddlers and kids. And I love that it takes 2.5h to travel to from LA (as well as from other US destinations like Texas, making the trip with littles so easy).
FS Punta Mita's grounds are breathtaking and unbelievable, with two private and secluded white sand & clear warm water beaches where the kids can run around freely, an extensive infinity-edge pool, an adult-only pool and a lazy river around the lush property.

Our room was the “Oceanfront Plunge Pool suite” and it had a bedroom, a living room, two bathrooms & a large patio with this stunning plunge pool. We were not in the room at all during the day, but I did love having the plunge pool to relax when kids went to bed, so relaxing. This room also includes a king bed, one sofa bed, and one roll away bed or crib. So perfect and spacious for a family of 4. But they even have smaller suites, and up to 5 bedroom villas.
Their food is incredible. They currently have two main restaurants Dos Catrinas (Mexican fare with a contemporary twist) where you can go for breakfast (buffet or a-la-carte), lunch or dinner; and Aramara (asian cuisine) for dinner. But they also offer an incredible food menu both poolside as well as at the beach, and have a beach shack called The Shack Grill with steak and seafood bbq. You can also enjoy Mez, their bar, with plenty of live music, and room service, of course! PS: Kids under 5 eat for FREE!
I also was lucky to get to escape to their incredible SPA while daddy took them to the game room to play after a long beach & pool day. I did a detoxifying and relaxing 2h session to boost my immunity, youth, health and energy, with their 80min Tequila Stone massage, it’s their signature style here, it’s an ancestral recipe that combines tequila and sage oil to release muscle tension, stimulate circulation and improve joint mobility. Combined with deep tissue pressure (you can choose light) using a combination of hands, forearms and hot stones. A must-try to release tension & also detoxify and improve circulation.
I also used their hot tub to bring down swelling and loosen tight muscles and prepare body for the deep tissue, increase circulation and start to detoxify; their sauna to prolong the healing and support the body in its expulsion of toxins and waste; and drank a lot of their chlorophyll water throughout, rich in essential vitamins and minerals and have great anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties. The whole experience was magical!
We did not get to try their kids club (complementary for kids 4+) nor their babysitting services (at an added fee) because we were so busy having fun and relaxing with the kids around the property doing complimentary water sports, enjoying the lazy river, playing poolside and at the beach.... but we definitely will next time as they have a great program for kids all day; and they also offer great wellness activities through the day for adults! Nathan and I love to take turns with the kids too so we coordinated well. But we most definitely want to try the kids club once they are both 4!
If you love golfing, with this resort you have exclusive access to two of the world’s most renowned private golf courses with breathtaking views. But they can coordinate so many more activities too!
After our stay, I truly felt detoxified, relaxed, and with batteries fully charged, which often after a vacation with kids you feel totally opposite, ha!
If you are looking for the most relaxing, gorgeous, tropical beach vacation, in close proximity to many US & Canada airports... this is truly IT! You won't regret it.
