How To Leave The House Quickly & Effortlessly with Kids

Leaving the house with kids can be a struggle, and don’t get me wrong lazy mornings are also amazing and needed.

But if you are looking for ways to get out of the house quickly, whether you have a place to be like summer camp or preschool; a Sunday Sunday activity planned with friends, or you simply want to get outside early to enjoy the morning outdoors... then these tips are for you!

I always get asked how we just grab and go in the mornings and it’s always somehow challenging but if we have all of the above set, it’s definitely much much smoother, stress free, and for sure, faster.

  • Pack the bag the night prior: all the stuff. Diapers. Wipes. Beach toys. Change of clothes...

  • Leave outfits ready. Shoes, socks, underwear and all!

  • Have snack and go snacks available. While these may not be easy to pack the night prior, having them ready, set aside in a fridge corner & available (always think to shop for them) will make things easier & faster too.

  • Having a plan on what you’ll do, even if it’s just going to the park around the corner if you simply want to get out and enjoy the morning, will save thinking & fighting time.

  • Get the kids excited about this plan since the day before, even if it’s the simplest plan!

  • Have all items ready at doorstep: stroller, blankets, beach toys... even better if they are already in the car!

  • Have a list of things you need to do like “grab the snacks from fridge” so you don’t forget.

  • Manage your own expectations. Sometimes things aren’t smooth or quick, unexpected does happen it’s okay! Keep a light calm attitude so you don’t get the kids grumpy & complaining too. Energies are contagious and it won’t help.

  • Turn the getting ready & out activity into a game to make it fun.

  • And remember to have lazy mornings too!
