Barcelona & Sitges: Trip Itinerary, Recommendations & Where to Stay

Updated: Aug 5

I was born and raised in Barcelona city, and spent every summer in Sitges (a beach town 30min away from the city) and so every summer, we go back and stay in my beach home (and escape to the city). Since I share about this destination, I always get asked about it, where to stay, what to do, so here, I will recap my top recommendations for you to plan your own family trip there. Enjoy!

HOW TO GET THERE

If you are traveling from the USA obviously many airlines get to Barcelona (a huge destination) but I recommend looking into Level Airlines. It offers direct flight (the only one that does) from LAX and they have different packages that are so affordable and with the premium package you still can get a great rate and access all of the comforts: there's wifi on board, you can pre-select your three course meal to ensure you love it, you get hand bags and checked in bags included, you have seat selection and flexibility to cancel or change the tickets, and much more. Plus in every seat you get the best entertainment selection (tons of options for kids) and it's super comfy too.

HOW MANY DAYS SITGES VS BCN?

Barcelona I would do 5 days (3 is doable but you'll see less)

Sitges I would do 3 to 7 days, there's less to do but you will get more of a more relaxed vacay experience (so do 5 city 3 beach if you prefer to focus on the city tourism or do 3 city and 5 beach if you are traveling with a more relaxed goal)

WHERE TO STAY IN SITGES

We have our own beach condo right across the beach and so well located and to be honest it's just the best experience to be able to cook and have our own home feel. So I do recommend airbnbs. Here are some options in prime locations:

But if you want to stay in a hotel, then these are prime location ones I recommend:
