This was a big schedule change! He dropped the 4th nap last month already, but now the naps are longer AND he is now eating too. So there's lots to update you on.
As always, I will start with the normal patterns for a 6 month old:
- Awake windows of 2h-4h
- Typical night wakes of 1-2 times
- Naps are 3 a day
- Naps are anything from 30min to 2h
- Total sleep per every 24h should be of 13-14h
- Night sleep should be of 10-12h
- Naps / day sleep should total 2-3h
Here's an average schedule that B does right now:
7:00am: Nursing session
8:00am: Meal 1
9:30am - 10:30am: Nap 1
11:00am: Nursing session
1:00pm: Meal 2
2:00pm - 3:30pm: Nap 2
4:00pm: Nursing session
5:45pm - 6:15 p.m: Cat Nap
6:30pm: Meal 3
8:00pm: Bedtime routine + nursing session
8:30: Night Sleep
And right now that he does not have sleep regression or teething (yet), he is waking twice a night.
Also note: not all days naps are perfect or this long, lots of days Sofia does not let him go to sleep or wakes him earlier... and some random days we get lucky with extra long. This is just an example of an average day!
