Ginger Bread Cookie Recipe



It's that time of the year!


INGREDIENTS:

½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

⅔ cup packed dark brown sugar

⅓ cup unsulphured blackstrap molasses

1 large egg yolk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2¼ cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons cinnamon

2 teaspoons ground ginger

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon fine sea salt

¼ teaspoon ground cloves

1 tablespoon of any milkeasy cookie icing for decor


RECIPE:

  • Add the cream, the butter and brown sugar to a bowl and mix

  • Then add the molasses, egg yolk, and vanilla and mix again

  • In another bowl whisk the flour, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda, salt, and cloves

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients

  • Mix in the milk

  • Make a flattened disc of dough

  • Roll out the dough

  • Cut out the dough with a cookie cutter

  • Preheat oven to 350°F

  • Place cookies on tray to bake for 8-10min

  • Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes

  • Once completely cool, decorate as desired


Cookies stay fresh covered at room temperature for up to 1 week!
