We were in town for a wedding weekend, so with all the festivities, we did not have time to explore the city much.
However, staying at The Fairmont Hotel in Downtown Austin, was the best decision ever. It gave us a sense of living the city life, being in the heart of it all, and with breathtaking views. Minutes from everything, restaurants & shops, yet still also giving us the chance to relax and unwind like a proper vacation deserves with their incredible amenities!
Their rooftop pool is one of the best city hotel pools I have been to! It's on their 7th floor with city views, big enough where you aren't packed, and with pool beds, which makes it super relaxing and fun! There were also other families, but it did not seem like a kid pool whatsoever. And their SPA & gym is ridiculous. Even if you don't get a treatment, their facilities are insane.
I also recommend their Gold service. It gives you access to exclusive amenities and services, and most importantly, access to their Gold Lounge located on their 35th floor, a lounge room with sofas and dinning tables where you can unwind, and a kitchen where they keep serving food all day: from a full breakfast buffet in the am to snacks during the day, wine and cheese, deserts, and even a full bar. I absolutely loved having this option because a) with a toddler that constantly wants to snack, popping in and out was so easy to get her snacks all day and b) it was a very homey feel, we could put our slippers on and head there in seconds. And it made breakfast with a toddler way easier too!
Finally, I also loved that, despite our last minute issue not having a rental car (we literally realized we did not have one when we were just boarding, 10min before taking off, and all rental companies were fully booked for the weekend), I called the concierge at The Fairmont and in minutes, they had confirmed a rental SUV car for us, with car seat included! They always keep some available for their guests, and not only that, but they were able to arrange a luxury private shuttle service with car seat from airport to hotel and back, so we only had to book the car for the 2 days that we needed it versus the full 5 days we were going to rent at the airport, making it overall cheaper :) Great service and so helpful!
