Scottsdale Trip Recap

We hadn’t been to Arizona in 2 years, and we absolutely love it. Plus, it’s a quick trip from LA (5h road or 45min flight!), and always gorgeous. So we decided to visit again.

Scottsdale is truly special. It's bursting with unique attractions, invigorating outdoor nature activities and unforgettable adventures that captivate your spirit.

You can go hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, Grand Canyon air tours, desert eco-tours, hummer tours, Salt River Water Floating, Grand Canyon white water rafting, explore the tranquil horizon with hot air balloon adventures on sunset or sunrise, kayaking, and so much more nature fun, yet the city has the most vibrant hospitality venues, shopping and wellness spots, a true urban oasis in the desert with idyllic blue skies.

We decided to stay at the Phoenician Scottsdale, located in the heart of the city, by Camelback Mountain. A huge property that’s very relaxing and lavish, with stunning views everywhere you look, from the mountain, to the city, surrounded by palm trees. Zen, relaxing, yet in the city center by Paradise Valley. Only 15min drive from the airport.

They offer expansive pools (in three different areas, one of them adult only) with multiple seating options, cabanas, and even a kids zone with a splash park that allows kids to play freely and safely. They also have a huge water slide for both adults and kids, which makes it so fun. They offer pool-side dining (with kids menu too) and we absolutely loved their fish tacos!

Their SPA was out of this world. It's heavily renovated, and still feels brand new, and it's gorgeous, zen, and the perfect place to escape the kids for a little alone pampering time, which is much needed on vacations with little kids, since they definitely are work! I got the 80min massage and it was indescribable. 10/10 recommend. As recharging and relaxing as it gets.

For dinner we did room service, and we also tried their on-site restaurants: The Tavern (more causal dining, a polished pub grub perfect for the whole family with stunning views of the newly designed, lush green golf course), and J&G Steakhouse (a more sophisticated menu and environment with scenic sunset patio for views). And for breakfast we always went to Mowry & Cotton, which has a very laid-back style, and it was delicious. I kept repeating the avocado toast with eggs! All restaurants on-site have kids menus as well.

The room was big and spacious with the most incredible views. We booked the Grand Deluxe Room which has views of The Phoenician Pools and is available with 1 King or 2 Queen beds.

We will definitely be back!
