Sofia's Birthday Family Trip at The Kid Friendly Laguna Cliffs in Dana Point

For Sofia's birthday this year are doing 3 celebrations: a birthday family getaway, a Disneyland day and a a birthday party she asked for.

Her birthday (1/15) landed on a three day holiday weekend so it was perfect to escape and spend some family time away also celebrating six years of parenting.

We decided to go to Laguna Cliffs in Dana Point, perched on a high bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The picturesque AA A Four Diamond Victorian-style Resort and Spa is the perfect place to relax and enjoy family time with the most stunning coastal & harbor views, and so much to do: a full-service spa, gym, 2 pools, 2 spa tubs, a steam room, 24h room service, bar, restaurant, nearby pristine beaches, complementary wine and tea at their gorgeous bar with epic sunset views, hiking trails, free bike rentals & more.

But not only that, this resort is such a family friendly location offering connecting rooms and executive suites that accommodate up to 8 (we had two rooms, a king and a double queen, connected through a large living room with full size dining table, so convenient with kids), a kids club that operates seasonally and offers half and full days for children 5 to 12 to enjoy themed activities and playtime (we didn’t use but we’ll def come back in the summer once B is 5+ to do so!) a kids pool, a kids splash pad, babysitting service, kids movies with popcorn, a beautiful kids play park 3min walking distance, cribs and roll away beds upon request.

On top of all this their restaurant not only is delicious for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but is located right next to a large lawn area where the kids can freely (and safely) can run and play while parents can sit and enjoy their meal, win win.The resort is also located just an 8min walk from the beach (Dana Point Harbor and Doheny State Beach, gorgeous) and offers bike trails where we took the kids scooters, and also rented a little family bike for us 4 that was so much fun.

So, if you are looking for a relaxing family friendly resort within nature in the SoCal coast, this is another great option year-round.
