Tips for a successful road trip:
š Since we are both in the car, I sit next to Sofia in the back because itās just easier to distract her with different toys, teething toys and just keep her busy overall. āš¼ But (very important) I encourage her to pick up all toys by herself when she drops them so she learns, so when we are riding the two of us alone she does it on her own.
š If your baby can sleep in the car, plan the ride to be during a nap.
š If your windows are not tinted like ours, bring window shades to protect your baby from the sun and create a darker, nap-inducing atmosphere.
š I bring her baby book full of colors and hang it in front of her so she has something interesting to face to, not just a seat.
š Be flexible to stop for feedings and breaks, the baby needs to stretch too!
š A Check list of items to consider bringing in a bag in the car with you (not trunk):
- diaper bag - Wipes - Blanket - Window shades - Change of clothes
- Toys & teething toys
- Music the baby likes - Empty plastic bags for trash - Baby food / water / cooler if baby already eats
