Weekend at Frosted By The Sea at Del Coronado

  • Dec 12, 2022
  • 2 min read

Every holiday season the iconic transforms into winter wonderland with Frosted by the Sea, happening until January 1st.

The resort shimmers and shines with sparkling lights, music, Christmas trees and snowy surprises, filling the property with holiday cheer and so many seasonal activities too:

- Skating by the sea (they even had shoes for B)

- Frostbite lounge

- Beach side igloos

- S'mores on the beach

- Holiday movies on the beach

- Light show spectacular

- Jingle roast

- Photos with Santa

- Gingerbread house making

Tip: make sure to make reservations online before you go, they do get sold out especially on weekends or nights. And hotel guests get a discount on all activities, but you can also go spend the day!

The resort offers 5 different neighborhoods to stay in:

The Victorian: The original, iconic hotel that evokes the legacy and magic of two centuries. No two rooms are alike, and all are full of character.

The Cabanas: where we stayed! Modern, fully renovated, steps from the pool, Sun Deck restaurant and beach. You can choose between a beach side room with ocean views and terrace with fire pit (the one we had, see views below) or, a poolside room that serves as a private cabana.

The Views: Offers front-row access to adventures at The Del. Hit the waves, sail the seas, and bike along the beach—then kick back on your balcony to watch the sunset.

The Beach Village: A gated community of beachfront cottages and villas, Beach Village vacation rentals promise personalized, elevated service with access to exclusive experiences and amenities at every turn.

Shorehouse: An elevated hotel experience in an extraordinary neighborhood of seaside residences. With an oceanfront pool that blends seamlessly into the horizon.

For dining, there's also so many options too:

- Serea for more formal dinner

- Sundeck for casual oceanfront lunch, cocktails and dinner, perfect with the fam

- Sheerwater for buffet breakfast, and sit down dinner (less casual, but still great with kids)

- Babcock & Story Bar for adult drinks

- Beach & Taco Shack for casual daytime tacos and tropical drinks

- ENO Market & Pizzeria a casual Italian-inspired marketplace, perfect to-go too

- Sundaes for the best ice creams!

This property is truly the perfect spot to make magical family memories during any season, witj an incredible landscape, beach & pool to play and enjoy with the kids, private beach bonfires, plush pool cabanas, surf lessons, fitness classes including beach spinning, beach yoga and paddleboard yoga, bike rides, golf, boat rentals and Ocean Explorers (where your kids 5-12 can enjoy half or full days of learning about the beautiful sea in an underwater aquarium). But it's definitely incredible to come with the fam during the holidays too!

If you want to enjoy it with your family too, you can now use my code LAURA at checkout for a 20% discount your overnight stay at any of their neighborhoods through February 28th. This is your sign to book your stay!
